What is fuel and spot market?

Fuel is needed in order to operate locomotives driven by diesel, while electricity is needed to power electric operated locomotives.
Fuel prices will fluctuate and it is therefore a good idea to purchase while cheap.
For electric locomotives, a spot market deal must be made. Similar to purchasing fuel, you can lock prices on the spot market for a certain amount of kilowatts. Spot prices will also fluctuate.
